B. REFLECTION

My experience in conducting observation in this Field Study have improved my understanding in different forms of performance assessment. I have also appreciate the product-oriented assessment that enable the teacher to clearly see the evidence of knowledge and skills that are learned in the whole learning process. Seeing the outcomes and product of the students academic engagement will help them motivated and continue their studies.
One of the learning I gain from this activity is that it is rarely evident for the teacher to give performance assessment for her/him to know the students learning falls. Thus, as a future educator I can apply this in my future teaching process.

MYMP- Me and You Must Practice: A Reflection

Camaman-an Elem. School particularly Grade 3-Durian was the school we decided to visit and to be observed. As we observed, I noticed different strategies that the teacher applied. In order to know that the students really learn from the lesson, assessment after discussion is advice. From the observation, the teacher gave quiz, a written and at the same time performance assessment.
And as a future educator, I need to know different assessment method for me to apply in the teaching process. It is very hard to be an educator as what I've observed, it needs patience towards the different attitudes of the learner. Hard work and extra effort is also recommended for you and your learner to gain knowledge from each other.

Reflection

From the observation we conducted, I personally noticed the hard work of the teachers to teach their students. There were some students who were not listening and they’re just having some things to do. This is one of the different attitudes of students that the teacher should consider in teaching.
For the teacher to be an effective, they should be aware of the different teaching strategies in learning. What teaching method would be applicable? What assessing method would be appropriate to used?
As a future educator, it is my responsibility as early as now to know the importance of assessment methods and tools for the learners. It will contribute students to gain learning. Also it will help the teacher to have information of the students standing in class. And to determine which students need to review the concepts. As well as which activities and instructional approaches they found easy and more meaningful to them.
